Welcome to Secret Garden in the Ham

Where little explorers grow, play, and connect with nature

At Secret Garden in the Ham, stay & play sessions are designed for little explorers to discover, play and grow in a safe, nature-rich environment. From confident walkers and toddlers to young children, every stage of early development is welcomed.

Children are invited into hands-on, sensory-rich experiences including nature play, mud, water, sand and seasonal explorations. Each session may begin with a gentle story or rhyme, before flowing into child-led play where curiosity leads the way...

As a qualified early years educator, I thoughtfully prepare simple, open-ended provocations inspired by the seasons and the children’s interests, creating opportunities for exploration, creativity and connection. Sessions are inclusive, with activities accessible for children of all abilities, including those with SEND.

We also offer sessions for childminders, providing a supportive and welcoming space for professional caregivers and the children they care for to play, learn and connect together.

The garden will continue to grow and change with the seasons, evolving alongside the children and families who attend. Each session gently comes to a close with a shared moment of care for the space - returning, washing or placing items back - helping children build independence, respect and a sense of belonging.

Parents and carers are invited to stay, relax and connect with others, or join in the play alongside their children.

Sessions are calm, nurturing and filled with opportunities for curiosity, creativity and connection with nature.

We can’t wait to welcome you into our garden and continue growing this special space together.
